Merdeka Belajar/Freedom of Learning Platform

As a result of the Covid 19 pandemic, where online education becomes a vital part of teaching and learning, the Minister of Education Nadiem Makarim has introduced a new education platform named and known as Merdeka Belajar/Freedom of Learning (FoL).

Many Teachers and Head Teachers within and outside STI admitted that the platform has helped to realize the improvement of learning quality of the students.

The FoL indicates key mindset shifts that shall pivot the next wave of a pedagogical strategy. Teachers reportedly have welcomed, accepted and admitted the improvements in the classroom learning experiences and systems. They feel inspired and thus it increased professional teaching methods.

FoL has positive impact on their morale and mindset changes in the Indonesian education sector.

Looking ahead FoL aims to broaden its role, not only by enhancing teachers capabilities but also addressing broader professional development needs. This includes acting as a channel to identify potential school teachers with future plans to become a comprehensive solution supporting them in areas such as career advancement and promoting data driven teaching practices.

FoL platform plays a crucial role in identifying priority areas of improvement when planning for the next academic year.

In STI, Teachers are expected to help Students acquire the necessary softskill and hardskill to succeed in their future careers.
